Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm pretty sure you've heard of Kylie Jenner releasing her own line of lipsticks/lip glosses. Her lipsticks come in 8 different shades and are a liquid consistency. They're also a matte finish. When you receive your shipment, it comes in this cute little black box with a note.
Each lipstick and lip liner duo comes in a box pictured above
The lipsticks come in the following shades:
Kourt K - Deep purple/plum
Candy K - Soft warm nude
Dolce K - Medium beige nude
Koko K - Pale pink nude
Posie K - Dusty mauve pink
Mary Jo K - True blue red
22 - Vibrant burnt orange
True Brown K - Deep chocolate brown
Candy K, KoKo K, 22, Kourt K, Literally
Candy K, KoKo K, 22, Kourt K, Literally
Like - Warm mocha/warm brown beige
Literally - Warm peachy nude
So Cute - Warm nude beige
I don't own the whole collection and honestly, I don't see myself buying every color. I've never been the type to wear reds or browns. I normally wear nudes and pinks. As of right now, I own: Kourt K, Candy K, Koko K, Posie, 22, Like, and So cute. I haven't worn anything but Koko K. I ended up buying Kourt K the day it was released but I don't even know if I can see myself really wearing this color. It looks a little bit TOO bold, for my taste - almost vampy/goth. I'm kinda feeling so-so about 22, as well. Up until this point, I haven't even worn or swatched these colors, other than Koko K. I'm still awaiting the arrival of Posie K and So Cute. For some reason, I ordered Literally and So Cute the same day but only Literally arrived. I was barely sent a confirmation about So Cute. It was two different orders but ordered about a minute apart (the same day). I'm not quite sure why I didn't receive both of these the same day and why there is a delay with So cute. But anyway, let's move along with the pros and cons!
Pros
-Long lasting - like really! It'll literally stay on ALL day
-Smells like cake
-Comes with a matching lip liner
Cons
-Shows EVERY imperfection
-Can be a little drying
-Pricey if you're not used to paying $29.00 for lipstick (it comes with a lip liner) or $15.00 for lip gloss
-The names of the products are kinda generic
-Sells out within minutes
So do you NEED this lipstick/lip gloss. My honest opinion is NO. Any time there is hype about a product, everyone wants it. I could live without these but I DO like them. Koko K is the most popular color and sells out first. I've found that True Brown K is always the last to sell out. I wish that you could order all lipsticks in a bundle, to save people the trouble of having to try multiple times to purchase ONE color. The lip glosses can be purchased in a trio or separately. Kylie always restocks every few days, making announcements on her app and Instagram. Before I part, here are some tips regarding the Lip Kits
When trying to purchase, it's best to set your laptop or mobile device up to auto-fill your information, so when it comes time to insert your name and credit card number, it'll save you precious time! I have found that ordering from my iPhone is a lot more efficient and faster than my MacBook. I'm not sure why this is but it works better, in my opinion!
Even though it's more expensive, I've also found that I need to choose what color or two colors I REALLY want. I've noticed that if I choose ONE color and add it to the cart and immediately check out, there's a better chance I'll get it. When I start trying to add several different colors and try to check out, it'll tell me that certain colors are already sold out! It's easier to add multiples of ONE color than several single colors. It's a pain but this is what has worked for me. Also, I always place like two orders. It's retarded, I know but I want to make sure I get the color I want. If I had luck placing my initial order, I'll try to place another order for the other color I'm eyeing. It sucks to pay $8.95 for shipping each time but whatever works, right?
If you're prone to dry/chapped lips, exfoliate before you apply the lipstick! This lipstick dries quick and like all matte liquid lipsticks, it shows every line/crease/imperfection. I've noticed as it dries, it kinda feels tight.
